Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Community Event Honors 15 Students

The 27th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. community event, "A Living Legacy: The Fierce Urgency of Now" held Saturday, January 21st at Shea Middle School honored 15 elementary and K-8 schools for making a positive difference in the lives of others in their schools and who exemplify the teachings of Dr. King.
The celebration of arts, culture and education in the Syracuse community was presented through a variety of workshops, speakers, presentations and performances provided by community organizations.

Donald C. Sawyer III, a doctoral candidate and instructor of sociology in the SU Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, was the keynote speaker.
