The mission of Say Yes to Education is to value and realize the promise and extraordinary potential of economically disadvantaged youth and families. Say Yes recognizes the daunting challenges faced by children living in poverty, but knows through experience and field-tested results that children can overcome these challenges when given holistic support beginning in kindergarten and culminating with the promise of free college tuition at participating colleges and universities.  Such supports include after-school and summer camp programs, tutoring, mentoring, family outreach and engagement, social work/counseling services, health and wellness programs and legal clinics.

Your generous donations will ensure that children in the Syracuse City School district have the opportunity to receive the necessary supports that impact their readiness for and access to higher education. With your dollars, we can provide the foundation for a promising and productive future for all students, regardless of family income level or circumstances.

Donate to the Syracuse Say Yes to Education Fund

Contributions to the Say Yes to Education Fund, administered by our partner the Central New York Community Foundation, are matched dollar-for-dollar by the Community Foundation up to $1,000,000 before the end of 2013. The fund provides full tuition scholarships to Syracuse City School District graduates who attend SUNY/CUNY colleges and universities.

The Say Yes to Education Fund is a special five-year initiative that will ensure that SCSD students are financially able to attend SUNY/CUNY two-year community colleges and four-year colleges and universities by providing tuition scholarships to eligible Syracuse City School District graduates that would like to attend a state school.

The Community Foundation has pledged $1 million of its own dollars towards this program. Contributions to the Say Yes to Education Fund are matched dollar-for-dollar by the Community Foundation and Say Yes to Education, up to $2M before the end of 2013.

Donate to the General Say Yes to Education Fund

Donations to the general Say Yes to Education Fund, may be made by credit card or check. These donations will be used for Say Yes programming, such as after school and summer camp programs, family supports, legal supports, health and wellness, etc. If you would like to send your donation by mail, please download the donation form here, fill it out, and mail it to the address on the form. Please write "For Syracuse Chapter" in the memo line on your check.
