Next Steps for High School Seniors
The Steps to your Say Yes Financial Aid Guarantee are as easy as…. One, Two, Three!
1. Apply to the College of Your choice
View the colleges that are approved for the for the financial aid guarantee here. This includes over 70 Colleges in the State University of NY system and the City University of NY as well as over 20 private colleges.
2. Apply for Financial Aid
All colleges require that students complete a
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Some private colleges will also require that students complete a
CSS Financial Aid Profile. Remember to adhere to all college deadlines and requirements. If you have questions contact the financial aid office at the colleges where you are applying.
3. Complete a Student Certification Form
In April/May of your senior year, you will need to complete a Say Yes Student Certification Form (which will be available through your high school post secondary counselor) and let us know where you plan on attending college. This will enable Say Yes to determine your Say Yes award and ensure that your award is processed in time for the fall semester.
Financial Aid Counseling Network
Many students require one on one help to complete the financial aid process for college. To do this, we have created the
Syracuse Financial Aid Counseling Network to work with seniors and parents to complete financial aid applications and answer individual questions.
Financial Aid Coaches will work with high school seniors and their families between November and January to ensure that they complete the financial aid process in a timely manner and make informed decisions about college.
Our current season of Financial Aid Coaching is now closed. You may contact
the post secondary counselor at your high school for questions about financial aid applications.
